Where do I begin with these two? I met Jes and Chris through YoungLife at NC State, and have watched their love grow stronger with each day throughout the past few years. They are both so selfless, so goofy, so fun, and such a beautiful reflection of the Lord; it goes without saying that I was absolutely thrilled to be a part of their long-awaited big day!
And what a beautiful day it was. Despite the forecast calling for a seventy percent chance of intense thunderstorms starting midday, we were determined to have the ceremony outside (and to be honest, it made me a little too anxious.) By some miracle, the rain held off just long enough for us to finish all the group portraits we needed - hallelujah! Half way through portraits with the bride and groom, however (and as far away from shelter as we could possibly be) - the sky FELL OUT. We're not talking my-hair-is-frizzy kind of rain, we're talking my-hair-is-a-waterfall kind of rain. Jes (in the most adorable fashion possible), took off in a full sprint and somehow managed to dodge almost every raindrop. (Meanwhile I am stuffing my cameras under my shirt for dear life.) It continued to pour the rest of the reception and cleared up perfectly in time for a sparkler exit. It's as if the Lord knew the exact timing of the wedding day and made sure we'd get all the shots we needed! What a blessing it was! So incredibly thankful for this sweet couple and the opportunity to shoot a wedding and be a guest simultaneously for the first time! I am beyond excited to see what the Lord has in store for the life together. There isn't a doubt in my mind He'll do great things through their marriage.
